North Providence High School tested at 8.0 pCi/L of radon before the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, and that had Lifespan School Solutions concerned. Lifespan decided to pull 4 of its students from this facility and have now decided that they can return following a follow-up test of radon that resulted in a 0.4 pCi/L reading.
The North Providence High School installed a new ventilation system in the classroom used by The Bradley Schools, which is the daughter corporation of Lifespan School Solutions. This resulted in the lowering of the radon levels to an acceptable level.
It is not mentioned whether or not the entire facility was mitigated for radon, or if NPHS only mitigated the room that involved The Bradley Schools.
